Safety Around Forestry Workers and Equipment

At Weyerhaeuser, our top priority is the safety of our employees, contractors, and customers. Each of us plays a crucial role. By communicating, working together, and maintaining safe distances, we can all keep one another safe.

Forest management includes logging, road maintenance, spraying, surveying, planting, or other activities related to growing timber. These activities may occur at any time of the year.

Remember:

  • Maintaining a safe distance is the best way to avoid accidents.
  • Avoid confrontation with anyone on the property. Weyerhaeuser employees and contractors will gladly identify themselves and explain their reasons for being there. If you suspect trespassing, please contact local law enforcement.
  • When approaching a logging operation, stop and wait until you make visual contact with the operator. They will signal you when it is safe to proceed.
  • Always keep at least 300 feet away from active operations. If work has ceased for the day and no workers are present, you can reduce the safety buffer to 100 feet, except in Washington or Oregon, where recreational access is entirely prohibited near active operations.
  • If you have problems with roads, gates, or locks, please log into your club's online account and use the reporting tool to initiate repairs.

Feel free to contact your Lease Manager with any questions regarding safety around forest operations. Thank you for helping us maintain a peaceful and productive environment for everyone.
